Meniere’s Disease Treatment with Burcon Cervical Specific Chiropractic Technique
We are going to discuss Meniere’s Disease, what it is, how it’s diagnosed, and how we can help!
What is it?
Meniere’s disease is characterized by a tetrad of symptoms:
- Fluctuating hearing loss
- Episodic vertigo. This means sudden and random dizziness that causes the room to spin. Forcing the person to lay down.
- Tinnitus or ringing in the ears. Most patients report a low tone that is always present.
- Aural fullness. Patients report a feeling of pressure in your ears like you’re changing altitude in an airplane all the time.
Most patients who come into our office have already been diagnosed by an ENT doctor or a neurologist.
There is no cure for Meniere’s disease. However, a doctor by the name Michael Burcon is the leader in Meniere’s disease research and treatment. He’s published many research papers on Meniere’s disease. He has also spoken at the International Meniere’s Seminar for 12+ years.
Here is a link to his research on 300 patients with Meniere’s disease with a 6 year follow up.
So what does this have to do with how we can help you? If you follow our clinic, you know we are San Diego Upper Cervical Chiropractors. We specialize in treating patients that suffer from Meniere’s disease. Dr. Burcon has found the origin of Meniere’s Disease in the neck! His treatment protocols begin with aligning the upper cervical spine, then the rest of the neck. He calls his treatment the Burcon Cervical Specific Chiropractic Technique.
And one of our doctors at Anatomy Chiropractic, Dr. Shane Kathireson, has been certified to treat patients with the Burcon Cervical Specific Chiropractic Technique by Dr. Burcon himself!
So what does the process look like?
When a patient comes into our clinic, a detailed examination is performed to determine if the patient is a candidate for this treatment. If it’s determined that the patient is a candidate, x-rays are taken of the head and neck to find and measure the misalignments in the neck, and then treatment begins.
Treatment length depends on how severe the symptoms are and where the patient is coming from.
If you are suffering from Meniere’s disease or know someone who is, have them give us a call today. Dr. Kathireson is a San Diego Chiropractor who specializes in low force chiropractic techniques. He uses Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic and Activator Chiropractic to perform the Burcon Cervical Specific Chiropractic Technique.
